Urgent Recall – Car Jack Stand could falter and crush mechanic

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued an urgent recall for GPC Asia Pacific 6000 kg ratchet-type vehicle support stands.

The product has been discovered to have a faulty main column and has the potential to fracture, rather than bend, if a load is dropped on it.

This could lead to the horrific incident of a vehicle falling on a person working underneath, causing serious injury or death.

Mechanics and Consumers with this product are to cease using it immediately and return to their nearest Repco store for a full refund.

The GPC Asia Pacific 6000 kg ratchet-type vehicle support stand was sold at Repco stores across Australia from November 8 2013 to February 16, 2018.
