Those who have reserved a Tesla Model 3 in Australia and New Zealand are getting a chance to have an exclusive sneak peek of their future mass-market electric vehicle.

The number of Australian customers that put down $A1,500 to reserve their Model 3 is unknown, but with their vehicles not expected for delivery until 2019, the exclusive invitation will give them a taste of what is to come.

The unveiling will happen simultaneously in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with media also invited along for a preview.

Tesla founder Elon Musk has promised that construction of right hand drive Model 3s will begin mid 2019, although it is not clear when the first of these will arrive in Australia.

The delays continue to cause frustrations with fans, with an estimated 450,000 customers having put down a deposit for a Tesla 3.
