Queensland Government announces an online training one-stop-shop

In partnership with a Logan based and globally successful digital training company, GO1, the state will roll out The Queensland Small Business Skills Hub- a platform with up to 400 free online course topics such as:

  • Foundation Business Skills
  • How to Lead a Successful Business
  • Connecting Businesses and Customers
  • Adaption and Digital Skills

Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training Shannon Fentiman said “Go1 are well-known for providing a platform for major firms and companies across the world to access training lessons pivotal to businesses.

In a company first, the training library will be made available to all Queensland small businesses and their employees.

The platform also has the functionality for employers to design their own training programs for their employees, which will be particularly welcomed by businesses looking to diversify their talent and adapt to changes incurred due to COVID-19.

In addition to the training portal, there will be a second portal entitled Skills Focus Queensland designed to assist the job seeker market and individuals preparing to obtain new employment, or to cross-skill, with many courses covering topics such as resume writing, interview preparation, IT, sales, accounting and finance.

The Minister said the government will partner with other reputable Registered Training Organisations to bolster the online offering.

Small businesses can access the Queensland Small Business Skills Hub GO1 training library via the Business Queensland website at www.business.qld.gov.au/onlinetraining

Individuals impacted by COVID-19 can connect to the Skills Focus Queensland training portal through the Jobs Finder portal at: https://www.jobsfinder.qld.gov.au/
