67,500 cyber crime reports were lodged with the Australian Cyber Security Centre in 202/21 – a 13% increase on the previous year. Self-reported losses from cybercrime globally total more than $33 billion (AUD).

Small businesses need to be more aware of security threats then ever in an effort to protect themselves.

Australian Cyber Security Centre Education Pack for Small Businesses

To help small businesses protect themselves from cyber security threats, the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) has put together an educational pack of cyber security advice designed intentionally for small businesses.

Small businesses are at an exceptionally high risk of cyber attack, as they may not necessarily have the same level of security in place as a larger organisation. As a result, cybercriminals may look to take advantage of this, which can be devastating to any business.

The educational pack for small businesses contains:

  • Guides for ransomware, email attacks, securing your mobile phone, and more

ACCC Little Black Book of Scams

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission has developed a guide detailing the most common international online scams to watch out for, and how you can protect yourself from scams.

This book contains information and education on:

  • the most common scams to watch out for
  • the different ways scammers can contact you
  • the tools scammers use to trick you
  • the warning signs
  • how to protect yourself, and
  • where you can find help
