Queensland Government Assistance
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Queensland Government has established numerous measures and financial packages to support individuals, households and businesses here. These include:
- Jobs Finder: Queensland job seekers can register their details, location and skills to be matched with potential job opportunities through an online portal.
- Commercial tenancies: Land tax relief has been made available for commercial tenants and landlords. A mandatory code of conduct has been developed by the National Cabinet.
- Making it for Queensland: Queensland manufacturers looking to lend a helping hand in the fight against COVID-19 can register their capability and capacity details to offer their support.
- Manufacturing personal protective equipment (PPE): The Queensland Government are working with local manufacturers to ensure PPE supplies remain abundant.
- Business assistance finder: The coronavirus (COVID-19) business assistance finder has been established to help businesses learn what support they may be eligible for.
- JobKeeper payment: Queensland employers may be eligible for an Australian Government subsidy to continue paying employees during this time.
- Unpaid pandemic leave: The Fair Works Commission has varied 99 awards to provide employees with two weeks unpaid pandemic leave and the ability to take annual leave at half pay.
- Business closures: Latest information on non-essential business closures has been made available.
- Queensland border closures: The latest information about Queensland state border access restrictions is available.
- Business support fact sheet: A summary of the Queensland Government’s support packages for Queensland businesses has been developed.
- Small Business Hotline: The Small Business Hotline has been established to support local businesses. Contact the Small Business Hotline on 1300 654 687.
- Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant: Due to an overwhelming number of applications, the Queensland Government have now closed the Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant for new applications. For more information, click here.

Workcover
Workcover are working to provide employers with advice and support and have released a FAQs list to assist employers experiencing increased financial concerns as a result of COVID-19.
Topics covered include safety measures to protect employees, covering wages for sick/quarantined during the pandemic and assistance available from WorkCover.
