The 2022 Ford Everest will be available in four variants – Ambiente, Trend, Sport and Platinum – when it arrives in Australian showrooms later this year.

The line-up will feature two engines – a 2-litre bi-turbo diesel, and a 3-litre V6 turbo diesel that will be available in the Sport and Platinum variants. Both will be backed by Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2-litre engine offers 154kW and 500Nm, while the 3-litre delivers 184kW and 600Nm. All models will have a 3,500kg braked towing capacity.

Everest is offered with two drivetrain options with rear-wheel-drive or 4WD available on the Ambiente and Trend models and full-time 4WD the only choice available to the Sport and Platinum variants.

On the inside, there’s a fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch or 12-inch centre infotainment display, depending on the model.

Additional features include a reach and height adjustable steering wheel. Wireless charging, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Built-in navigation, and voice assistant are standard, as is a suite of safety features that includes Reverse Brake Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Alert, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Blind Spot Info System, Cross Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage, and Digital Reverse Camera. The Platinum model also gets a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Active Park Assist.
Drive modes across the range include Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, and Slippery, while the 4×4 Trend, Sport and Platinum variants also gets a Mud/Ruts mode, and a Sand mode.

Trim and comfort features vary across the range, including larger wheels up to 21 inches, with the Platinum picking up a handful of premium tweaks such as leather accented quilted seats, power panoramic roof, Matrix LED headlamps, and heated steering wheel.

There will likely be a long list of accessories available for the new Everest. Ford joined forces with ARB last year to offer a range of add-ons for the Ranger and Everest, including bull bars and winches, side rails and steps, driving lights, snorkels and more.
