New cars on the road in 2019

2019 is here and is set to be a exciting year will a number of vehicle manufacturers preparing for car launches.

Along with an onslaught of SUVs, we can also expect new hatchbacks and utes.

In the technology space there are many new hybrids entering the market as well as fully electric vehicles becoming more available and affordable to the masses.

Here are the biggest arrivals:

Toyota Rav4
In the second quarter of the year, Toyota will released their revamped RAV4. As well as a roomier cabin and bigger boot, the most drastic change will be the introduction of Toyota’s first hybrid engine, which will replace a diesel engine in the RAV4 former model.
Prices are expected to start at $31,000 for the petrol version, with the hybrid model closer to $40,000.

Suzuki Jimny
Starting at $24,000 the fan favourite will feature an old-fashioned ladder-frame chassis, 75kW 1.5-litre petrol engine, low range gears and choice of five-speed manual or four-speed auto.

Mazda 3
Arriving midyear the new Mazda 3 will see a design revolution for the all-new hatchback and sedan model.
There’s a cleaner and more driver-focused cabin with new 8.8-inch screen and enormous effort made to reduce the cabin’s noise issues.
Prices are expected to start at $22,000

Mitsubishi Triton
The 2019 Triton will see the mother of mid-life facelifts and improved safety kit.
Arriving early 2019, this version will introduce a bolder grille, muscular wheel arches and new off-road selector.

Volkswagen Touareg
The 2019 Volkswagen Touareg has a sharper design with a longer and wider body. Fancy options available include air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and giant 15-inch touchscreen beside a 12.3-inch digital display.
Prices for the current model start at $75,000, so we can expect this to increase by several thousand.

Hyundai Kona Electric
The EV onslaught continues with the introduction of the Kona Electric next month.
Prices are expected to start at $50,000 with the EV market expecting to see immense growth over the coming years.

Kia SP
Due towards the end of 2019, this small SUV will enter into the same market as ther Mazda CX-3 and Toyota’s C-HR.

Honda Accord
The Honda Accord is set to be released to market in late 2019.
The new Accord is already on-sale in overseas left-hand-drive markets with edgier styling and prestige-targeting leaps in luxury, safety and technology, so expect a price of more than $40,000.
