Mercedes-Benz electric vans launching in Australia from 2022

Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia plans to electrify its entire commercial van line up, with the introduction of the eVito panel van, the eVito Tourer and the brand’s first fully-electric EQV premium people mover in 2022.

The eSprinter is slated to join around 2024 once its next-generation becomes available.

The company says that thanks to their flexible productions strategy, they intend to offer both conventional and battery-electric vans side by side and are preparing to switch to electric-only in the future.

“This is a very exciting step towards a more sustainable future for Mercedes-Benz Vans and our customers in Australia,” said Diane Tarr, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Vans.

“We are confident that the electric drive will gain more prevalence here over the coming years. As it does, we will be ready with a strong customer-centric electric product portfolio, which offers the potential to assist customers with lowering their operating costs and reducing their environmental impact.”

Full local specifications and pricing will be communicated closer to launch.
