Lockdown: Business Opening Rules and Mask Wearing

The Chief Health Officer for Queensland has issued two public health directions: Restrictions for Impacted Areas Direction No. 3 and Restrictions for Queensland – updated 29 March 2021.

The health directions outline the list of non-essential businesses, activities and undertakings that must not operate (subject to certain exceptions) during the current lockdown for Greater Brisbane.

Businesses in the automotive sector, except auction houses, can open under COVID-19 safe conditions. This is of course a decision for individual business owners taking into consideration their own circumstances.

Individuals must carry a face mask at all times, but where a face mask would create a serious risk to that person’s life or health and safety, including if determined through work Occupational Health and Safety guidelines, they can remove it while working at the workplace.
