The 8 X JEFF KOONS, a limited edition M850i xDrive Gran Coupé created by renowned American artist Jeff Koons and BMW, is heading to Australia.

Just one of the 99 vehicles produced will be available to purchase by a local customer in Q3 this year, with pricing to be confirmed.

However, with only four vehicles painted per week, and each taking 285 hours of manual work to complete, we expect it will be considerably more than the $282,900 before on-road costs asking price of the standard model.

Naturally, the BMW X JEFF KOONS that is coming to Australia will be right-hand drive, enabling it to be registered. And driving this around would certainly grab the attention of other road users!

The exterior finish combines 11 different colours, ranging from blue to silver and yellow to black, filled with expressive and striking design elements of pop art and geometric patterns.

Down the sides of the car are star-like shapes and “vapour trust imagery” said to symbolise the power and speed of the model, as well as iconic “POP!” symbols.

Turning inside, the multi-coloured interior features high-end materials with striking red and blue tones, as well as a cupholder lid with limited edition badging and Koon’s signature.

Finally, each vehicle comes with a certificate personally signed by Jeff Koons and BMW AG chair Oliver Zipse, while also containing the individual Vehicle Identification Number of the respective vehicle.
