Land Rover unveils new, five-seat Defender 130 Outbound

Defender 130 Outbound

Land Rover has expanded its Defender 130 range with the introduction of a special five-seater ‘Outbound’ version.

Trading the third-row passenger seats for more storage, the model offers 1.267 metres in the rear. Its near flat loadspace floor “easily accommodates everything from wetsuits and kit bags to camping and climbing gear.”

Available only with the P400’ 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, the Defender 130 Outbound offers an output of 294kW and 550Nm of torque.

A new exterior appearance package gives the Defender Outbound a blacked-out look, featuring a matt finish to the bumpers and grille insert, side vents finished in Anthracite, and gloss-black 20-inch alloy wheels.

Fuji White, Santorini Black, Carpathian Grey and Eiger Grey make up the colour palette, while body-coloured rear signature panels and D-pillar finishers complete the exterior enhancements.

Inside, there are 12-way electric-adjustable front seats, high-sided rubber matting and three-zone climate control. There’s also the choice of ‘Resist’ artificial leather or real ‘Windsor’ leather trim.

Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System and Terrain Response 2 unlock new 4×4 capability, while Electronic Air Suspension and Adaptive Dynamics are fitted as standard. The Electronic Air Suspension allows for up to 430mm of articulation and up to 900mm of wading.

The Defender 130 Outbound can tow up to 3,000kg, meaning everything from jet skis and boats to caravans and trailers can be towed with ease, and trades the third-row seats for increased storage space, offering 1.267 metres in length behind the second row.

The 2024 Defender line-up is available to order now, with Australian deliveries to commence in November this year.
