Lamborghini has revealed its latest addition to the Huracán lineup, an off-road rally-inspired version of the familiar V10 called the Sterrato.

Delivering on the promise of its 2019 concept of the same name, the Huracán Sterrato is ready for production, with customer deliveries to begin next year.

The Sterrato will be the last variant of the Huracán model line before it is replaced in 2024, and more significantly, the last of Lamborghini’s pure internal combustion engine vehicle. The Italian marque plans to adopt plug-in hybrid power across its range by 2025, before its first electric vehicle in 2028.

The Huracán Sterrato comes with a 5.2-litre V10 engine producing a maximum power output of 610 CV and 560 Nm of torque (at 6,500 rpm), combined with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and electronically controlled all-wheel drive with rear mechanical self-locking differential.

Designed to offer optimum performance on unpaved and sandy surfaces, it accelerates to 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260km/hr.

The ground clearance has been increased by 44mm compared with the Huracán EVO to ensure greater suspension travel, as has the front (+30mm) and rear (+34mm) track width.

Stopping power is covered by 380mm front and 356 rear carbon-ceramic brake discs, clamped by six-piston front and four-piston rear aluminium fixed monoblock calipers.

Visual upgrades include a new front bumper, LED driving lights, unique side skirts, and black roof racks. Furthermore, in addition to protecting the car body, the aluminium front underbody protection, the rear diffuser, and sturdy wheel arches all “emphasise its muscularity”.

Inside, highlights include a unique green Verde Sterrato Alcantara upholstery, new graphics and special driving features, a digital inclinometer with pitch and roll indicator, a compass, geographic coordinate indicator, and steering angle indicator.

Among the onboard services, Lamborghini Connect includes integration with Amazon Alexa to adjust car features such as air conditioning and lighting, as well as control navigation, phone calls, and entertainment with a simple voice command.

Production of the 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato is due to begin in February, with only 1,499 examples to be made. Final Australian details are yet to be confirmed.
