Honda To Release Final Edition Jazz To Celebrate The Models Australian Departure

The last new Honda Jazz model will hit Australian roads later this month, after Honda announced a special Final Edition would be released to commemorate the end of the road for the popular model.

Following Honda’s decision earlier this year to adopt a new Australian retail strategy, the Jazz model was one of a number of models to be retired from the Australian line-up.

But that has not stopped Honda celebrating the successful run of the model, which has graced Australian roads since first being launched back in 2002, with a special ‘Final Edition’ model to be released and sold until mid-2021 when the nameplate is withdrawn from Australia.

Starting at $19,990 plus on-road costs, the Final Edition Jazz comes with unique 16-inch black alloy wheels and accompanying black mirror caps.

Available in four colours, the Platinum White Pearlescent, Phoenix Orange Pearlescent and Modern Steel Metallic finished will set you back an additional $560, while the vehicle comes standard with the Rally Red colour.

Standard across the Jazz range, the Final Edition will possess an 88kW/145Nm, 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, good for a fuel economy of 5.9-litres per 100km.

The vehicle is also equipped with the standard multi-angle reversing camera, Bluetooth connectivity, magic seats and CVT automatic transmission seen across the Jazz range.

The difficult decision to remove the Jazz from the Australian market comes following a difficult year for sales in 2020.

A decline of nearly 60 per cent in sales from 2019 to 2020 has seen just 1,811 Jazz vehicles sold through the first 10-months of the year, making the Jazz the eighth most popular model in its segment with a seven percent market share.

Also leaving Australia will be the Honda City model, which fared similarly to the Jazz in 2020. A 66.2 per cent decline in sales has seen Honda make the difficult decision to end the City’s Australian run, with the company expecting stock to run out by mid-next year.
