Honda sounds recall for motorcycle over horn malfunction

Honda Motorcycles Australia has issued a recall notice for the CFR450L dual-sports bike after an issue was found that led to the horn cracking.

1,400 motorcycles have been included in the recall after Honda discovered the horn bracket could fatigue and fracture due to “insufficient strength and riding vibrations.”

In a statement released by the Australian Competition and Consumers Commission (ACCC), issues of the horn detaching and causing a road incident were possible.

“If the horn fractures, the horn may detach and increase the risk of an accident or injury to the rider and other road users,” read the notice.

Owners will be notified if their motorcycle has been affected and will be asked to visit their preferred dealership for a free of charge repair.
