GWM Australia is adding a Haval Jolion Hybrid SUV to its range in Australia. Sales are set to start this month.

The new model will join the larger Haval H6 Hybrid, and GWM says its range of electrified models (or New Energy Vehicles (NEV) as the company calls them) is expected to grow further in 2023.

Power for the Jolion Hybrid is delivered via GWM’s 1.5-litre engine and electric motor mated to the Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) to deliver 139kW and 375Nm. The company claims fuel economy at 5 litres per 100km using regular unleaded fuel.

While equipped with the same wide variety of premium interior, connectivity and safety features as the current Jolion Ultra model, the Hybrid gets a new front grille, new front LED and fog lights with blue accents, a new front bumper, new rear spoiler and new 18-inch alloy wheels.

Safety, Driver Assist and technology features include a 7-inch colour LED instrument cluster, 12.3-inch colour multimedia touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Heads-Up display, Wireless phone charging, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian, cyclist and crossroads detection, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Priced at $40,990 Driveaway, the Jolion Hybrid is backed by a 7-year/unlimited km warranty, 5 years roadside assistance and 5 years Capped Price Servicing.
