Hankook launch revolutionary tyre design for electric vehicles

Leading tyre maker, Hankook have engineered their second-generation electric vehicle tyre, paving the way for more of its kind in a growing industry market. The Kinergy AS EV will introduce strengthened handling and noise-reducing capabilities optimised for today’s emerging electric vehicle market

In order for electric vehicles to achieve optimal performance, they need tyres designed to complement these unique characteristics.

The Kinergy AS EV is engineered to meet the increasingly demanding specifications of electric vehicles. It provides a hyper-low noise environment suitable for electric vehicles and a comfortable riding and supreme driving performance on par with ultra-high performance tyres.

Electric vehicles are free from engine noise, therefore the application of advanced noise reduction technologies were an important consideration in order to achieve high standards of driving comfort.

The Kinergy AS EV shows maximum quietness by applying techniques that reduce the noise produced from tyre and the road.

Designed to take the extra weight of EVs, the Kinergy AS EV employs an extra-load reinforcement structure allowing little or no increase in diametre; even in high-speed driving while minimising tread block distortion in order to maintain optimum grip force to provide exquisite handling performance and stability.

An environmentally friendly Aqua Pine compound improves performance on wet roads, securing agile handling and braking in all road conditions. Improving driving stability, reducing tyre slip and minimising tread abrasion to deliver the high power of the electric motor and powerful initial acceleration with no loss.

By launching a second-generation electric vehicle tyre that features consolidated global top-tier technology, Hankook Tyre plans to offer the best driving environment to consumers who prefer electric vehicles. Kinergy AS EV will be available in Korea this year, and global launch is also under review for next year.
