December 2021/January 2022

Can you believe it is already Christmas! What a whirlwind year we have just experienced.

It has been a real privilege to lead the Association through what could have been a defining year for our industry. Ongoing supply constraints, labour and skills shortages, and the continued presence of COVID-19 all had the potential to be industry-altering. However, we have seen a real commitment to innovation and customer service, which has driven our member businesses forward towards a prosperous future. Yes, conditions could have been better, but the platform remains strong.

This year has also seen big changes on the policy front, which again demonstrates the need for a united association. The stronger we are, the harder we can push government.

We have been extremely vocal in pushing the interest of our members in relation to 7-day trading restrictions, written-off vehicles, e-scooter safety, and unfair Compulsory Third-Party insurance premium hikes among other topics.

I wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas, and I look forward to 2022.
