Cars & Coffee

November’s Cars & Coffee was a doozy, with some stunning classic cars making the trip to MTA Queensland’s head office for the last C&C gathering of car enthusiasts for 2019.

It was a good day for Holden fans, with a bevy of Monaros and models from the ‘70s rumbling into the car park to join a throng of Aussie Fords, U.S. muscle and elegant British classics. A couple of very interesting visitors included a 1949 Morris Minor and a 1986 Pontiac Fiero Coupe.

The Fiero is actually a little special as it was the first mass-produced mid-engine sports car built by a major U.S. manufacturer – a design layout that General Motors only revisited with the recently revealed 2020 Corvette. Another unusual guest was a 1972 Ford Torino Tourer, the sport version of which was featured in the Clint Eastwood movie, Gran Torino.

Also on hand at Cars & Coffee were Dave and Tyler Hamilton from automotive media outlet Overtaking Lane, who did some on-the-spot interviews with owners and filmed plenty of footage of the event– you can check out the video here.

As always, those who came along for the morning were able to enjoy not only the sights and sounds of some wonderful cars, but also were able to tuck in to some delicious coffee and food from Zali’s Café and raise some money for the Youngcare charity.

MTA Queensland’s Cars & Coffee will return in February. See you in 2020!
