02 Oct 2020 – MTAiQ client e-Motion Concepts Pty Ltd announced they have entered into a memorandum of understanding for exclusive distribution rights, sales and servicing of eMC’s EMoS branded electric vehicles for Australia and New Zealand with Ride Sports Pty Ltd.
30 Sep 2020 – An arrival of 1,500 new cars from Asia, at the Port of Townsville is alleviating the pressure on car dealerships suffering from poor stock levels. The new cars arrived last week and have begun to easing the blow for many dealerships who received multiple knock-backs throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
25 Sep 2020 – Elon Musk has typically held the position that the price range of Teslas will remain at current levels due to the increase in ride sharing making EV travel more accessible. 6 Jul 2020 – The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has released a tax time toolkit designed to help small businesses navigate the sometimes complex tax-time processes, particularly given the changing tax environments surrounding the impact of COVID-19.
6 Jul 2020 – The Queensland Government has introduced an On-time Payment Policy to support business, particularly during COVID-19.
Other measures to support business have also recently been announced and form a part of the governments greater Queensland Small Business Procurement Action Statement.
Finance Minister Josh Frydenberg announced businesses can now write-off assets such as cars and tools for the increased value of $150,000, until the end of December.
10 June 2020 – In partnership with a Logan based and globally successful digital training company, GO1, the state will roll out The Queensland Small Business Skills Hub- a platform with up to 400 online course topics.
1 Jun 2020 – Honda, Yamaha and Polaris have all revealed they will pull their quad bikes from the Australian market, with Honda stating the impossibility of meeting new safety standards the reason. The ACCC stands by the introduction of new compulsory roll-over measures, despite some dealers coming out against the move, citing impacts to their sales.
