Applications open – boost your business through a digital transformation!

On Monday the 21st of January, the Minister for Small and Family Business, Skills and Vocational Education, the Hon Michaelia Cash announced the Small Business Digital Champions project; an exciting opportunity for businesses to boost their digital footprint.

Small and family businesses are invited to apply for the opportunity to transform their business and help them unlock the potential that technology offers, whilst strengthening their business.

Valued at $20,000, the Small Business Digital Champions project is designed to help support small businesses whilst creating relatable and real-time examples to help inspire and inform Australian business owners on the pros of going digital.

Minister Cash said, “The evidence shows us that when small businesses are digitally engaged, they are 50 per cent more likely to be growing revenue, eight times more likely to create jobs, seven times more likely to be exporting, and 14 times more likely to be innovating new products or services. The Liberal National Government wants every Australian small business to share in this success.

“25 per cent of small to medium enterprises are sceptical about the value digital tools will bring to their business, while only 41 per cent of microbusinesses even have a website.

“In regional areas, the benefits of going digital can help bridge the distance with their city counterparts, making them more competitive.”

The Small Business Digital Champions project will be offered to 100 small businesses from various sectors across Australia.

Out of these 100, 15 will be selected to become Digital Champions and will be offered the opportunity to be paired with a high-profile Australia innovator.

MTA Queensland encourages members to apply for the project and embrace the opportunity to become technologically sound in this fast paced, innovative industry.

Applications close 4 February 2019.
