AIS inspections – Takata airbag recall

In February 2018, the Federal Government issued a compulsory recall for vehicles fitted with defective Takata airbags. TMR is seeking the support of Approved Inspection Stations (AIS) to assist with the recall process.

Important note: A vehicle subject to recall is not a fail reason.

Approved Inspection Stations are asked to make a note in the comments section of the inspection certificate to indicate if a vehicle subject to recall has not had airbags replaced.

View the attached Advice to Approved Inspection Stations for details on how to check if a vehicle is subject to recall.
