Steve Baxter tells Queensland to get ready for flying cars

Shark Tank star Steve Baxter joined MTA Group CEO, Dr Brett Dale on the Panel at the Myriad 2018 three-day festival. The panel discussing the topic ‘Are flying cars the way of the future’ was met by an enormous crowd, and Steve Baxter’s message was clear, flying cars will happen and could be in Australia within a decade.

Prior to Myriad, Mr Baxter attended the Uber Elevate Summit where it discussed that flying cars would be in Los Angeles by 2023.

Mr Baxter was adamant that the hardest part of bringing flying cars to Brisbane would not be the flying cars, but rather, getting people on board.

“Get over it, it’s happening,” he said.

“The question is, do we have them one year after LA or 10 years after LA.

“How long does it take to remove our head from our ass and get in and do this, stop building roads and start getting more flexible and better cities.”

Mr Baxter said flying cars would allow people to live 150 kilometres from their place of work, but still be there in half an hour.

“These are literally an upscale drone,” he said.

“You will put in an address, say 127 Smith Street, it will say the closest I can get you is 126 it will be seven minutes there thank you very much, insert credit card here, off you go, drop me off.”
