External Paint Process – Phase 2

Over the duration of February, March and April, the MTA Queensland Racing Team Crew have been working hard on the Hyundai.

There has been an extensive tasks list for the boys including:

  • Fit new urethane engine mounts
  • Fit engine, gearbox and diff as supplied
  • Fit plastic underside engine cover as standard
  • Block off heater hose
  • Flush fuel tank
  • Replace CV’s and driveshafts / or re-grease as required
  • Do wheel bearings
  • Relocate battery to passenger side floor, and wire accordingly
  • Rewire start from key start to push button start. lights and wipers to remain on existing steering column stalk
  • Replace brake and clutch master cylinders
  • Flush out brake fluid and replace with racing fluid
  • New brake rotors fitted
  • Fit brake pads and calipers
  • Fit new brake and clutch master cylinders
  • Fit new braided brake line kit
  • Remove auto adjuster on rear brakes, make easy manual adjuster, machine/new drums and shoes, wheel cylinders.
  • Fit secondary engine fan with dash toggle switch
  • Fit battery safety kill switch
  • Fit new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator
  • Remove existing suspension and fit MCA struts front and rear
  • Fit new suspension bushes all round, and grease where appropriate
  • Fit new wheel studs all round  (longer to accomodate wheels with wider offset)
  • Fit exhaust system
  • Fit and balance tyres to race wheels and fit to car. Fill tyres with Nitrogen (not air)
