Ranger Gets Luxury Treatment with Platinum Model
Ford Australia has unveiled a top-spec Ranger model, the Platinum, offering new styling and features.
Available exclusively in five-seat, double cab specification, the Ranger Platinum is powered by a 3-litre V6 turbo diesel engine, producing 184kW and 600Nm. Power is delivered through an electronically controlled, full-time, four-wheel drive system, combined with Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission. Maximum braked towing weight is 3,500kg.
On the outside, enhancements include a unique grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, ‘Platinum’ hood badging, Silk Chrome trims, Matrix LED headlamps, a damped tailgate, and Ford’s mew Flexible Rack System. Ranger Platinum will also be available in the Equinox Bronze paint colour previously available only on Everest.
On the inside, Ranger Platinum boasts quilted leather accented seats and a heated steering wheel. The front seats are heated and ventilated with 10-way power adjust and with memory function for the driver. There’s a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-inch colour multi-function touchscreen, B&O Premium Audio System, and ‘Platinum’ branding on front seats, mats and upper glovebox.
Options available are exterior paint colours and the no-cost option of a body-coloured roof in lieu of the standard black painted roof.
Ranger Platinum will go into production from April 2023, with first arrivals due in May 2023.
Manufacturer List Price is $76,990.
