All-New Subaru Crosstrek Confirmed for Australia

Subaru’s all-new symmetrical all-wheel drive Crosstrek SUV is coming to Australia.

Replacing the previous XV model, the Crosstrek is based on the latest Subaru Global PLatfrom and will come powered by either a 2-litre, four-cylinder Boxer engine, feeding an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) set-up via a Lineartronic CVT transmission with 8-speed paddle shift manual mode, or a e-Boxer hybrid system which is yet to be detailed.

Subaru says it has taken ‘a human-centred design approach’ to the Crosstrek, and that its designers even worked with medical schools, studying ‘the structure and movement of the human body to design a small SUV that delivers advanced comfort, sound ergonomics and an intuitive connection between driver, vehicle and road’. The Subaru Global Platform, it adds, delivers ‘a refined inner frame that increases cabin strength and delivers a quieter and more comfortable ride’.

The Crosstrek will receive top-notch safety and infotainment features, including the latest generation EyeSight Driver Assist system and Driver Monitoring System, 9 SRS airbags, an 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and wireless smartphone charging.
