The popular Hyundai i30 N hot hatch will soon gain a limited edition variant, boasting some new and exclusive design elements.

Only 180 examples of the vehicle will make the trip to Australia, while a further 620 have been built for the European market.

Based on the flagship i30 N Premium with Sunroof variant, the Drive-N edition adds 19″ forged alloy wheels in dark bronze matt paint, black Hyundai badges, and unique decals on the front, side, and rear.

Two Drive-N badges feature on the front wheel arches, featuring the GPS coordinates of Hyundai’s test centre at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany, where each new N car has been developed, tested, and honed since 2011.

Approximately 70 per cent of Australia’s allocation of special editions will be finished in a Serenity White Pearl finish, with the remaining 30 per cent to be painted in Phantom Black Pearl.

The interior of each vehicle is outfitted with a unique numbered badge, depicting its position among the limited volume of units.

Instead of leather, Alcantara with red stitching will cover the steering wheel, gear level, armrest, and handbrake. All accents, including seat belts, steering wheel N buttons, and stitching of the N Light Seats will be red in colour.

In addition to this all-new look, the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition comes will come fully equipped with a rear stiffness bar, a glass roof, and an extensive list of Hyundai Smart Sense active safety features.

As with the i30 N hatch, the Drive-N is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which sends 206kW and 392Nm to the front wheels. Of the vehicles coming to Australia, 70 per cent will have dual-clutch transmission and the remaining will be manual.

Full specifications and pricing will be released closer to launch, which is expected locally in Q4 2022.
