Bugatti Baby II arrives at Harrods, London

Just in time for the holidays, the limited-edition Bugatti Baby II is now on display at Harrods luxury department store in Knightsbridge, London.

A reimagined model of the original 1926 Baby, the Baby II was developed in partnership with The Little Car Company to celebrate Bugatti’s 110th anniversary. Offering more in both size and performance, only 500 of the bespoke models will be produced.

Visitors of Harrods can view the 75 per cent scale vehicle up close, presented in a Williams Green exterior with a Brun Cavalier colour Bridge of Weir leather interior to complement the store’s colour scheme. This is just one of over 160 colour combinations available to clients.

Ben Hedley, CEO of The Little Car Company, said: “We are incredibly honoured to be partnering with one of the world’s most famous luxury brands and are delighted to be able to present the Bugatti Baby II to all its visitors. This is an unbelievable milestone for The Little Car Company and testament to the handcraftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into producing these incredible junior cars.”

The Bugatti Baby II is available in three models: Base, Vitesse and Pur Sang. The Pur Sang offers the same powertrain as the Vitesse but with hand-formed aluminium bodywork. Using the same traditional coachbuilding techniques as the original Type 35, each body takes over 200 hours to create.

Not only do they look fantastic, but the vehicle’s performance lives up to the name. Offered exclusively in rear-wheel drive, all Baby II variants have a fully electric powertrain, high-performance hydraulic brakes and selectable driving models.

The base model comes with two modes; Novice which is limited to 20k/h and 1kW of power, and Expert which is limited to 45k/h and 4kW of power. In addition to these driving modes, the Vitesse and Pur Sang offer extra performance from an upgraded powertrain, enabling them to deploy up to 10kW of power and achieve a top speed of 70k/h.

Furthermore, the lithium-ion battery packs combined with regenerative braking in the base model can achieve 25km of range on a single charge. This is doubled in the Vitesse and Pur Sang versions to 50km, though not if they decide to unleash the full performance of the Baby II.

With the Base model starting at €30,000, the Vitesse at €43,500 and the collectable Pur Sang topping the range at €58,500 there is sure to be a Bugatti Baby II for both enthusiasts and collectors alike.
