MTA Queensland Hits The Road To Central Queensland

Central Queensland was the focus last week as MTA Queensland hit the road for the latest round of regional industry events.

Taking place over two evenings in Gladstone and Mackay, the sessions were aimed at bringing both MTA Queensland members and the broader industry together for a series of roundtable discussions and networking opportunities.

Led by CEO Rod Camm and Deputy CEO and GM Member Services Kellie Dewar, discussions centred around the range of services provided to MTA Queensland members, including the latest offerings in micro-credentials and webinar events. Attendees were also able to have their say on the services not currently offered that they would like to see incorporated, as well as discuss the key issues impacting our industry.

Accompanying Rod and Kellie on the roadshow were representatives from the Department of Transport and Main Roads and the Office of Fair Trading, who were kept busy discussing any and all regulatory issues and answering questions from those in attendance.

Both events proved to be extremely well attended and entertaining, with several non-MTA Queensland members coming along to learn about the benefits of joining the MTA Queensland community and many hanging around well after proceedings had finished to chat with other like-minded business owners from the local community.

It is this sense of community that CEO Rod Camm believes is the most important benefit of MTA Queensland membership.

“It is incredibly important that we are able to get out and meet face-to-face with our members wherever they are located across Queensland. Not only do they drive the direction of our advocacy pursuits, but they also guide us in shaping our suite of member services that directly benefits them,” said Rod.

“Based on our visits to both Gladstone and Mackay, it is clear that our members appreciate the personal experience that comes with this format. It allows them to connect with us, but more importantly with one another to build that community that is so important to the betterment of our industry. We are building strong momentum already through our first few visits and I hope to see this carry on into 2022 where we have even more events and networking opportunities on the cards.”

MTA Queensland is committed to engaging with all members across the state on a regular basis. Stay tuned for details about upcoming visits to an area near you. Visits will remain open to both MTA Queensland members as well as non-members.
