SsangYong’s New-Look Musso Goes on Sale

SsangYong Australia’s Musso 4×4 dual cab ute has had a range of styling upgrades as it goes on sale in the local market this month, with a tougher look and new front-end, new 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheel designs, and dark treatment to the door handles, mirrors and beltlines.

Available in two trim levels – ELX and Ultimate (which can also be had with an optional Luxury Pack) – the Musso comes with a choice of six body colours: Grand White, Silky White Pearl, Marble Grey, Space Black, Atlantic Blue, and Indian Red, and interior upholstery is available in premium woven fabric, Leather-look TPU or Premium Nappa leather in the new range-topping option.

The Musso is also available with two load bed lengths and capacities. Standard length models offer a load area of 1,011 litres, while the XLV versions gain an extra 300mm of bed length, providing a load volume of 1,262 litres.

The powertrain is 2.2L turbo diesel engine with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. There’s part-time four-wheel drive, low range, and an automatic locking rear differential. Towing capacity is 3500kg and payloads range from 790kg in standard models to 880kg in XLV Ultimate, and up to 1025kg in XLV ELX models.

The new Musso range offers advanced safety features such as AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking), FVSW (front Vehicle Start Warning), FCW (Forward Collision Warning), LDW (Lane Departure Warning) and SHB (Smart High Beam).

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, as is tyre pressure monitoring and 360-degree camera in the Ultimate model. The Luxury Pack adds Dual-zone automatic climate control, Power sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery, powered front seats, powered driver’s lumbar support, and heated rear seats.

Pricing for the Musso ranges from $34,990 for the ELX manual up to $46,285 for the Musso Ultimate model fully loaded with the XLV Pack, Luxury Pack, and metallic paint.
