GMSV dealer network now taking orders
General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) has announced its newly established dealer network in Australia is now open for business.
The US company will own and run the business, retaining the Walkinshaw Automotive Group as their right-hand-drive conversion specialist.
“We are looking forward to inviting customers into our new showroom to showcase our exciting new product range and hope to be met with the same excitement from customers who come in to shop with us,” says GMSV Preston dealer Jason D’Silva.
The Silverado 1500 is the first entry into the GMSV portfolio, with the Silverado 2500 and C8 Corvette to follow in late 2021.
The Silverado has a towing capacity of 4.5 tonnes with tow/haul mode, trailer sway control, hill start assist and auto grade, cruise grade braking, and a range of active safety features.
“Regional Queensland has a tremendous appetite for Silverado, and we are excited to be part of the GMSV’s future,” says Ross Crampton, Toowoomba (QLD) GMSV dealer.
GMSV Director, Joanne Stogiannis says that North American full-size trucks are re-inventing the ute market within Australia.
“We believe there is significant opportunity in Australia and New Zealand for our North American vehicles to compete in niche markets. We know that customers are eager to see what other products will add to our portfolio. We will continue to identify opportunities to add to vehicles where we can do so,” Stogiannis says.
Currently, over 50 GMSV dealers have been appointed across Australia and New Zealand.
Customers can now use the ‘find a dealer’ tool on https://www.gmspecialtyvehicles.com/ to locate their nearest GMSV dealer.
