Expansion of fuel pump safety recall for Toyota vehicles

Toyota Australia has announced an expansion of their safety recall campaign from March 2020 with regards to fuel pumps that may stop operating.

The additional models involved in the recall include 26,367 Camry (Incl. Hybrid), Corolla, Hiace, HiLux, Kluger and LandCruiser 200 manufactured between July 2017 and December 2019 inclusive.

Owners are cautioned that if the fuel pump were to stop operating, the vehicle may stall and not be able to be restarted. For vehicles travelling at higher speeds, this may increase the risk of collision.

Toyota dealers will replace the fuel pump in all affected vehicles free of charge.

The replacement process is expected to take approximately 2-4 hours, however this can vary depending on the model of the vehicle as well as the dealers’ schedule.

Toyota Australia will contact owners of affected vehicles by SMS, email and print mail to their last known address. Please contact the Toyota Recall Campaign Helpline on 1800 987 366 (Monday – Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm AEDT) or visit www.toyota.com.au/recalls-update-my-details to update your contact information.

Owners are encouraged to reach out with any additional queries or concerns to their local/preferred Toyota dealer, or contact the Toyota recall campaign helpline on 1800 987 366. To assist Toyota in identifying your vehicle, please quote the unique 17-digital Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which can be located in the owner’s manual.
