20,000 Honda vehicles recalled due to faulty fuel pump

Honda Australia has issued a recall encompassing more than 20,000 vehicles after a faulty fuel pump was discovered that affects eight Honda models.

Included in the recall is the MY2018 Accord, MY2018 Civic, MY2018 Civic Type R, MY2018 HR-V, MY2018-2019 CR-V, MY2019 City, MY2019 Jazz and MY2019 NSX models, with 22,366 vehicles affected in total.

An improperly manufactured fuel pump that may swell and cause the engine to stall has been blamed for the recall.

According to Honda, this fault could lead to an increased risk of accident, potentially resulting in serious injury to vehicle passengers or other road users.

Affected Honda vehicle owners are being asked to contact their preferred Honda dealer to organise a free of charge inspection and replacement of the faulty part.
