Faulty fuel pump leads to recall for Lexus

Lexus Australia has issued a recall for more than 6000 vehicles after a faulty fuel pump was found to be installed in a variety of models.

The recall encompasses IS, GS, RX, LC, LS, LX, NX, RC and IS-F model vehicles built between September 2013 – June 2015 and September 2017 – May 2019.

The recall relates to a faulty fuel pump equipped in affected vehicles. The fuel pump has the capacity to cease working, which may result in the engine failing to run smoothly. This could cause the vehicle to stall, which leads to increased risk of road incidents and injury to road users.

The recall affects 6,610 vehicles, with all affected owners to be contacted by Lexus Australia to organize a free inspection and repair for their vehicle.

Lexus Australia is working with suppliers to gain replacement parts as soon as possible.

If you are concerned about your vehicle being included in this recall, please contact the Lexus Customer Assistance Centre on 1800 023 009.
