New Toyota Yaris Hybrid Offers Outstanding Fuel Efficiency

From the sporty Yaris GR to the fuel-efficient Yaris hybrid. And when Toyota says fuel efficient, they really mean it, with the company claiming the all-new hybrid model will be the company’s most economical petrol drinker when it goes on sale in May.

How efficient? Well, Toyota says the new 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain will deliver a pretty astonishing fuel consumption figure of just 3.3 litres per 100km. That’s a sniff under the 3.4 litres per 100km claimed for the Hyundai Ioniq hybrid and will make the Yaris the most fuel-efficient non-plug-in car in the country.

Built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the Yaris hybrid will come stocked with a suite of safety features that include the most advanced pre-collision safety system in the Toyota range and active cruise control.

“The all-new Toyota Yaris is a marked step up from the current car in every respect and will deliver the outstanding fuel efficiency and advanced safety technology that our customers demand,” said Sean Hanley, Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing.

“It will also offer a substantially more engaging drive, superb comfort and refinement and the sort of contemporary styling to make it truly stand out in the crowd.”
