Queensland woman crowned new face of the National Trucking Insurance

22-year-old Queensland woman Georgia Easton has been announced as the new face of the National Transport Insurance (NTI) after winning the Best Industry Representative in the Faces of Transport Competition.

Currently working as an Operations Support Worker at Simmons Logistics in Brisbane’s North, Easton was one of four individuals to be recognised in the awards, with winners also crowned in the ‘Best on Ground’, ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘Best All-Rounder’ categories.

Georgia said she would use announcement to hopefully bring a new perception to the trucking industry.

“A lot of people have a negative or an incomplete image of the transport industry,” she said.

“There are countless opportunities and careers in transport and even more had working individuals that go above and beyond to ensure everything happens smoothly and that everyone gets to go home safely at the end of the day.”

The NTI earlier this year announced the revamped Faces of Transport awards to promote up and coming individuals who were set to make their mark on the industry, rewarding a select few individuals for their commitment, professionalism and exemplary service.

“This year we received over 2000 nominations from members of the industry nominating their friends, colleagues and loved ones to be one of four Faces of Transport,” said NTI Chief Executive Tony Clark.

“NTI are so proud to recognise these hard-workers. We are passionate about this industry and appreciate our winners who strive to make it better every single day.”

Other award winners of the National Transport Insurance Faces of Transport Awards included Jonathon Lowien from Queensland who won the Best on Ground award, Glen ‘Yogi’ Kendall from Western Australia who took out the Hall of Fame Award and Kerri Connors of Tasmania who won Best All-Rounder.
