Classic cars flex their muscles at Cars and Coffee

There was an absolute bumper turnout at August’s MTA Queensland Cars & Coffee gathering and muscle cars were front and centre as car enthusiasts from across the southeast rumbled into the office park at MTA Queensland to enjoy some top-notch coffee and grub, raise some money for the Youngcare charity and chat about horsepower, displacement and torque.

Mustangs were out in force, of course, and they were joined by a bevy of Chevys, including a 1968 Chevelle Coupe, a 1968 Camaro, a 1957 Bel Air Coupe and a stunning 1955 Chevy C3100 Utility.

Some more modern muscle was there too – with a twin-turbo 1987 Corvette, a 2014 Lexus RCF Coupe, and a 1998 Nissan Skyline Coupe amongst them – and supercars and exotics were not to be left out with McLarens, Aston Martins and an Audi R8 joining the fun.

While not many motorcycles make it to a cars and coffee muster, there was one two-wheeled visitor that turned plenty of heads. While not a classic, the 2016 Indian Chief Springfield has plenty of muscle – it’s powered by a tremendous-sounding 1.8-litre Thunder Stroke V-twin engine – and some very nice touches, including a front fender light sculpted into the company logo. It was a welcome visitor to Cars and Coffee, and it would be nice to see more bikes swing by at the next gathering.

When is that? Cars & Coffee is now held on the last Sunday of every third month and will return on 24 November. See you there!
