BlackBerry and Jaguar Land Rover announce continued collaboration on next-gen vehicles

BlackBerry Limited and Jaguar Land Rover will continue working together to develop the next generation of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles after announcing a deepening of the partnership between the two companies.

With the announcement of the expanded collaboration, BlackBerry will provide Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Technologies to transform vehicle safety in Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, including predictive software maintenance and cybersecurity threat protection.

Professor Sir Ralf D Speth, Jaguar Land Rover CEO, was delighted by the announcement that the two global companies would continue working together and supporting each other.

“Jaguar Land Rover and BlackBerry share a common objective in bringing the most intelligent vehicles to reality,” said Speth.

“I am delighted that our partnership with BlackBerry continues to go from strength-to-strength, a company whose technology innovations uniquely address the expanding safety needs of the automotive industry.”

Jaguar Land Rover will also use BlackBerry consulting services to identify and analyse vulnerabilities in connected and autonomous vehicle software.

Additionally, BlackBerry’s QNX software will also be used on the vehicles architecture to deliver the level of class and technology expected by customers.

BlackBerry Executive Chairman and CEO, John Chen, was similarly pleased by the announcement.
