Queensland’s Future Transport Strategy
The Queensland Government is preparing for the future of transport which will include automated vehicles, drones and integrated transport services, with a goal of aiming toward a zero-emissions transport network. The strategy will provide a 30-year long-term direction for how technology will meet the mobility needs of all Queenslanders.
To prepare for the changes happening in the transport sector, the Department of Transport and Main Roads has released the Draft Queensland Transport Strategy and they are encouraging members of the community to have a say.
The strategy is centred around five consumer outcomes:
- Accessible, convenient transport
- Safe journeys for all
- Seamless, personalised journeys
- Efficient, reliable and productive transport for people and goods
- Sustainable, resilient and liveable communities
Consultation on the draft strategy closes on May 24, with the strategy to be finalised later this year.
