Advisers for Flood-Affected Businesses in North Queensland

The Commonwealth Government is providing a team of dedicated on-the-ground advisers to help flood-affected businesses in North Queensland.

The business advisers will run workshops in the region from March to June.

Karen Andrews, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology said, ” Our dedicated business advisers will run workshops designed to assist businesses to take steps and get back on their feet as quickly as possible. They will provide practical information and referrals to help businesses get through what is a very difficult time.”

Dates and locations of workshops will be available shortly and communicated through the local AusIndustry office, existing regional networks, the Small Business Recovery Centre in Townsville, and local chambers of commerce.

This new business support will complement the disaster assistance funding for the affected Queensland shires, which will help with rate relief for impacted properties, reconstruction of infrastructure, or the disposal of cattle that have perished. More information on the Queensland grants here.

The Commonwealth grants include:

Far North Queensland Floods, February 2019 – Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment
