Supercar industry booms in South Australia

South Australians can buy new luxury motor vehicles for the first time from local dealers.

As a result (and thanks to the state’s motorsport revival), Adelaide is experiencing a booming supercars market.

Adelaide’s registered McLaren fleet has increased from one registered vehicle in 2014 to 20 models this year.

Aston Martin registrations have risen from 101 to 139 and Maserati climbed from 100 to 147.

Zagame Automotive chief executive Michael Winkler said, “The Adelaide market has absorbed up to 30 vehicles per annum from dealers around Australia, Zagame servicing the bulk of those sales from their Victorian Dealership.

“South Australia as a whole, and greater Adelaide in particular, has a burgeoning supercar market, so to have official local headquarters for both Lamborghini and McLaren is exciting news.’’
