Yamaha has issued a recall affecting 1300 motorbikes

Yamaha has issued a recall affecting 1,361 motorbikes with high engine displacement. The recall with affect vehicles in Vietnam with faults found within the engine cooling system and gear box.

The recall will affect Yamaha models R3, R25 and MT-03, manufactured between July, 2014 and November, 2017.

According to the explanation from Yamaha Motor Vietnam,

The Japanese car maker has identified models with engine cooling systems faults have seen cooling liquid leak through cracks in the rubber tubing due to pipes that are not up to standard.

The secondary fault lies within the gear box, with cracks in the gear sifters’ spring making it difficult for operators  to shift up gear.

The campaign will take place until December 6, 2019 at all Yamaha agents in Vietnam. It is expected to take three hours and 40 minutes to fix each unit with all costs covered by Yamaha Vietnam.
