Hyundai has taken the covers off its new IONIQ 6 electric car, ahead of full specifications to be revealed later this month.

Evolved from the Prophecy Concept of 2020, the production IONIQ 6 features an aerodynamically sculpted silhouette with simple yet sensuous curves.

Assisted by its low nose, active air flaps at the front, wheel gap removers, and optimal slim digital side mirrors, the vehicle has a drag coefficient of just 0.21 – among the lowest of any production car.

Further aiding the car’s ‘streamliner’ look is over 700 Parametric Pixels, located in various places including the headlamps, rear combination lamps, front lower sensors, air vent garnishes, and centre console indicator.

The rear wing’s Parametric Pixel High-Mounted Stop Lamp delivers an eye-catching light execution when the brakes are applied. To further highlight IONIQ 6’s uniqueness, the newly designed Hyundai ‘H’ badge is applied on the front and rear of the vehicle.

Turning inside, the IONIQ 6’s “cocoon-shaped” interior is replete with practical features and sustainable materials to facilitate a mindful, eco-friendly mobility experience and lifestyle.

The modular touchscreen dashboard integrates a 12-inch full-touch infotainment display and a 12-inch digital cluster, above a bridge-type center console that provides convenient and generous in-car storage. A 64-colour ambient lighting system integrates across the dashboard and door cards.

Hyundai has placed high importance on sustainability, with eco-friendly features throughout the cabin. Depending on the trim level, these include eco-process leather (seats), recycled PET fabric (seats), bio TPO skin (dashboard), bio PET fabric (headliner), bio paint derived from vegetable oils (doors), and recycled fishing net carpet.

The IONIQ 6 world premiere will take place in July, when Hyundai will reveal the full specifications, including the electrified streamliner’s features and advanced technologies.
