2022 Honda HR-V Price and Specs Confirmed

Honda’s new generation HR-V crossover SUV has arrived in Australia, offered in two specification levels with two different powertrains.

The line-up starts with the Vi X grade, powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine, and rises to the e:HEV L grade fitted with a two-motor hybrid powertrain.

While Honda has increased the price, the standard equipment has risen over the outgoing HR-V. Standard features across all variants include 18″ wheels, a 9.0″ touchscreen (up from 7″), LED headlights, keyless entry with push-button start, and adaptive cruise control – none of which were fitted to the previous HR-V VTi base model.

However, while Honda claims increased legroom and reclines for rear passengers, it has deleted its centre rear seat – making the HR-V one of only two new five-door SUVs under $100,000 with only four seats.

Starting at $36,700 driveaway, the Vi X is equipped with a host of new technologies including:

  • Honda SENSING suite of driver-assist and safety technologies
    • Forward Collision Warning
    • Collision Mitigation Braking System
    • Lane Keep Assist
    • Lane Departure Warning
    • Road Departure Mitigation System
    • High Beam Support
    • Traffic Sign Recognition
  • Agile Handling Assist System
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Walk-away Locking
  • Satellite navigation
  • Privacy glass

Starting at $45,000 driveaway, the e:HEV L extends the equipment list of the Vi X to include:

  • Blind Spot Information System
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Intelligent speed assist
  • Hands-free power tailgate with walk away close
  • Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System
  • Auto-dimming rear view mirror
  • Auto rain sensing wipers
  • Auto retractable, auto reverse tilting, heated, hydrophilic door mirrors
  • LED Active Cornering Lights
  • Heated front seats
  • Leather steering wheel
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Acoustic windscreen
  • Rear air vents and USB ports

“Repositioned as a sophisticated entry point to the Honda vehicle line-up in Australia, the all-new HR-V represents the beginning of a new chapter for Honda’s small SUV , elevating premium styling and quality alongside the HR-V’s enduring trademarks of spaciousness and versatility,” said Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins.

“It successfully extends the Honda brand’s reputation for quality, functionality and practicality, and presents it with an individual and fun style, all within a compact package designed to appeal to modern consumers.”

The 2022 HR-V will be available in a choice of five exterior colour paints. Three pearlescent colours include the all-new Premium Opal, along with Platinum White and Crystal Black. The two metallic paint colours are Meteoroid Grey and lustrous Premium Crystal Red.
