Global Volvo recall affects 24,977 Australian vehicles

Volvo has issued a recall for 24,977 vehicles in Australia as part of a global recall that affects more than 2 million vehicles in total.

The recall has been issued after certain vehicles were found to contain defective seat belts.

A steel cable in the front seat belt assembly may potentially weaken over time due to general wear, which could result in the seat belt failing to work properly.

The recall affects various vehicles built between 2006 and 2019, with models including the S60, S60L, S60 Cross Country, V60, V60 Cross Country, XC60, V70, XC70, S80 and S80L affected.

There have been no reported incidents or injuries as a result of this defect in Australia.

Volvo Australia are currently in the process of contacting all affected vehicle owners to organised a free repair of the issue.
