BUSY at work has launched a new training course in partnership with TAFE Queensland focused on promoting career pathways for women in the automotive industry, with applications for enrolment now open.

The Get BUSY Trucking (Diesel Mechanic) program is a 10-week course where participants will undertake a Certificate II in Automotive Pathways at the TAFE Queensland South West Campus.

Over the course of the 10-weeks, participants will learn new skills that will improve their employability in the automotive industry, while receiving career guidance and support along the way.

There will also be an opportunity for participants to participate in work experience with local employers, with Cummins and TEC Partnership partnering with the program to provide placement opportunities.

The training course is fully funded by the Queensland State Government as part of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program.

Applications to enrol in the Get BUSY Trucking program are now open, with enrolment open to unemployed, or underemployed Females interested in potentially pursuing a career in the automotive industry.
